POSTPONEMENT NOTICE!

The Manganui Rando Race has unfortunately had to be postponed. This is due to the severe weather expected on Saturday the 16th.

Currently the avalanche advisory for Manganui Ski Area is on HIGH. This affects the access track to the ski area.

Although a southerly clearing is expected on Sunday it has been decided that the uncertainty of weather and snow conditions and the logistical difficulties of a probable late opening to the ski area make it unsuitable to move the race to Sunday the 17th.

Therefore we regret to advise that the Manganui Rando race has been postponed until September. Date to be confirmed.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this might cause but naturally safety is the primary focus.

This decision has been made between SkimoNZ and Manganui management.

For more details email the race organiser craigmartella@skimountaineering.org

Thank you to everyone who has expressed interest in entering the event. We look forward to seeing you on the re-scheduled date.

Manganui Rando Race shaping up

Things are falling into place for the Manganui Rando race.

We're hoping to see all keen local and visiting Ski Tourers and Telemarkers and Split boarders over this way on Saturday the 16th of August for what will be a fun day out on Taranaki.

Tod from Manganui has come up with what should prove to be course with some thing for everyone.

Don't forget we have some good spot prizes lined up and participation is the name of the game. So there's no need to feel this type of event is beyond you, it's all about getting out on the hill and meeting and socializing with other back country folks and having an awesome day out on the North Island's greatest little ski area.

Please visit www.skitaranaki.co.nz or click on the Stratford Mountain club link to the left to find out all you need to know about getting to and accommodation for this unique event.

Further event details will be posted soon, otherwise please email craigmartella@skimountaineering.org for more information.

Proudly brought to you by Skimonz and Straford Mountain Club.
